Mini-Rollers for Big Production By When it comes to miniroller systems, a lot of companies offer the standard wienie-roller design with built-in bearings and a wire frame. The invention of Wooster Jumbo-Koter® a few years ago opened up a whole new system and way of painting. We have been copied by competitors, but ours is the original mini cage system and still the best. The Jumbo-Koter line has only three frames: short, long, and flip. The easy-roll cage really sets it apart because it doesn’t stick or skid. That’s why it has been so successful. Painters really, really like the performance of Jumbo-Koter. Minirollers are easy to use and great for small areas or any project where someone is thinking, “That’s a lot of brushing—I wish there was an easier way to do it.” Bathrooms, hallways, kitchens, cabinets, or any area with a lot of windows and doors resulting in small wall spaces— Jumbo-Koter makes it more efficient. Contractors have told me they started trimming those areas with the Jumbo-Koter, then they end up doing the whole job with it because it rolls so easy and applies so easy that there was no need to ever get out the 9-inch. So in the end there’s less to clean up as well. We offer Jumbo-Koter covers in 4 1/2-inch and 6 1/2-inch sizes, and both fit on each frame. Two roller sizes that work with one frame—that’s unique in the industry. You don’t need to buy separate frames for each roller size, so it saves money. Jumbo- Koter covers have an open core, like a standard 9-inch roller. I think Wooster has the most extensive fabric offering for minirollers in the industry. We have 15 different fabrics, offered in varying naps and pack sizes. Jumbo-Koter has two-packs for everything, several six-packs, and also contractor bulk packs. We have a cover for every use and need out there. What’s really nice is that they are the same, exact fabrics as our 9-inch and 18-inch traditional covers. That’s also unique to Wooster. It makes for great uniformity in the finish. You can trim and cut-in with the Jumbo-Koter or use it to go back and touch up the job, and it blends flawlessly because the fabrics match. For things like spindles, pickets, or doors that contractors tend to spray, using Jumbo-Koter instead means less wasted material. And with doors you’ll save labor because you don’t have to mask off or set up a spray area, take them down, take them outside…instead you can use the Jumbo-Koter and leave the doors up. The miniroller probably takes one-third of the time and much less effort. Quite a few paint contractors have tried it and told me it worked great. There is no reason to use inferior miniroller programs, because the cost isn’t much different from the best. If you try Wooster Jumbo-Koter, you will never go back to the old wienie-roller style.
