Article 19 - Overtime<br />
19.01 An employee shall receive overtime premium of:<br />
(a)<br />
time and one-half <strong>the</strong> position wage rate:<br />
(i)<br />
(ii)<br />
(iii)<br />
for <strong>the</strong> first five (5) hours worked in excess of his scheduled daily or<br />
weekly hours; and<br />
for <strong>the</strong> first five (5) hours worked on Saturday; if he is not scheduled to<br />
work on Saturday; and<br />
for <strong>the</strong> first five (5) hours worked on <strong>the</strong> first and third days of scheduled<br />
days off.<br />
(b)<br />
double <strong>the</strong> position wage rate for all hours worked:<br />
(i)<br />
(ii)<br />
(iii)<br />
(iv)<br />
after five (5) hours overtime in his work day, Monday through Friday;<br />
and<br />
after five (5) hours worked on a Saturday if he is not scheduled to work<br />
on a Saturday, or if scheduled to work on a Saturday, on <strong>the</strong> first and<br />
third days of scheduled days off; and<br />
on Sunday, if not scheduled to work on Sunday; and<br />
on <strong>the</strong> second and fourth days of scheduled days off.<br />
(c)<br />
An employee shall be paid a week-end bonus of fifty (50) cents per hour for all<br />
hours worked on Saturday or Sunday which do not qualify for overtime<br />
premium. This rate shall not be pyramided for any overtime calculation.<br />
19.02 Overtime premiums and shift premiums shall not be pyramided.<br />
19.03 (a) Overtime work opportunities shall be offered to employees on a rotating basis<br />
according to accumulated overtime recorded daily by <strong>the</strong> Department Head or his<br />
designate on Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays) among <strong>the</strong> members<br />
at each work section who are normally assigned to such work.<br />
(b)<br />
A “Work Section” shall be defined as a group of employees with <strong>the</strong> same<br />
immediate Supervisor(s).<br />
(c)<br />
For <strong>the</strong> purpose of overtime work opportunities “normally assigned” shall be<br />
defined as:<br />
(i) an employee in a permanent or<br />
(ii) an employee in a temporary bid position or<br />
(iii) a temporary employee or student who has worked his most recent shift<br />
performing <strong>the</strong> duties in question and his last ten (10)
