David Nix ’91 was enshrined into
the UC Davis Baseball Hall of Fame
in October. David was a two time
NCAA All-American and holds the
highest single season batting average in
school history at .401. In 1995, David
led the UC Davis Aggies to their first
ever Division II College World Series
appearance, earning Regional MVP
honors and collecting a record 95 hits.
In 1996, David was the NCAC Player
of the Year and finished his career
at UC Davis with a .372 average, 94
runs and 37 doubles. David and his
wife Sarah live in Danville, California
with their two daughters, Meghan and
Shannon, and newly born son, Ryan.
Casey (Wilson) O’Roarty ’91 lives
in Monroe, Washington, outside of
Seattle with her husband, Ben, and
their two children, Rowan (five-yearsold)
and Ian (one-year-old). Casey
and Ben have resided in the North
West for 12 years. They celebrated
nine years of marriage on August
14, 2008. Casey is currently teaching
Parenting Classes at a local YMCA
and she keeps busy with her two
kids. She recently spent a “Girls Night
Out” in Portland with fellow SMCHS
alumnae, Allie (Werve) Koleno ’91
and Megan (Morse) Malo ’91.

Casey (Van Meter) Cook ’92 has
been married to her husband, Abraham
Cook, since 2001. Their son Cole
was born March 11, 2007. Abe is a real
estate attorney at Jackson DeMarco
in Irvine. Casey works part-time
as the event coordinator at St. Michael’s
Abbey, Seminary & Prep School in
Silverado Canyon and spends the
rest of her time with their little boy.
Erika (Blinn) Geisler ’92 and her
husband, Bill, have two kids, Olivia
Belle Geisler (5-3-06) and Andrew
David Geisler (3-7-08). In May of
2008, the family moved to Wilmington,
North Carolina. In July of 2007,
Erika retired from her psychology
practice to be a “house cat”
(stay-at-home mom).
Heather (Blackinton) Herd ’92
graduated from UC Irvine in 1996 and
then went to live in London, England.
While in England, she met Stephen
Herd, a native of Scotland, whom
she married in May of 1997. She
graduated from UCLA School of Law
in 2001. The couple moved back to
Orange County in 2005 and now
resides in Ladera Ranch with their
boys, Ewan Nathanael (9-04) and Liam
Derek (4-08). Stephen is currently
practicing commercial litigation at
Rutan & Tucker in Costa Mesa.
Dana (Woods) Maas ’92 and Brian
Maas are the proud parents of their
daughter, Brenna Grace Maas, who was
born on October 28, 2007. Dana and
Brian’s two sons, Dean and Davin, are
equally excited about the birth of
their baby sister!
James McGrath ’92 graduated from
UC Berkeley in 1997 and taught
Algebra at SMCHS from 1997 to 1999.
He received a Master’s Degree in
Philosophy from UC Irvine and taught
at Long Beach City College for several
years before attending UCLA. He
graduated from UCLA School of
Law in May 2008. He was the class
president, chief managing editor of
the Women’s Law Journal, president of
the UCLA Sports Law Federation,
and he has a Business Law Specialization.
