WINGS | 2009<br />
David Nix ’91 was enshrined into<br />
the UC Davis Baseball Hall of Fame<br />
in October. David was a two time<br />
NCAA All-American and holds the<br />
highest single season batting average in<br />
school history at .401. In 1995, David<br />
led the UC Davis Aggies to their first<br />
ever Division II College World Series<br />
appearance, earning Regional MVP<br />
honors and collecting a record 95 hits.<br />
In 1996, David was the NCAC Player<br />
of the Year and finished his career<br />
at UC Davis with a .372 average, 94<br />
runs and 37 doubles. David and his<br />
wife Sarah live in Danville, California<br />
with their two daughters, Meghan and<br />
Shannon, and newly born son, Ryan.<br />
Casey (Wilson) O’Roarty ’91 lives<br />
in Monroe, Washington, outside of<br />
Seattle with her husband, Ben, and<br />
their two children, Rowan (five-yearsold)<br />
and Ian (one-year-old). Casey<br />
and Ben have resided in the North<br />
West for 12 years. They celebrated<br />
nine years of marriage on August<br />
14, 2008. Casey is currently teaching<br />
Parenting Classes at a local YMCA<br />
and she keeps busy with her two<br />
kids. She recently spent a “Girls Night<br />
Out” in Portland with fellow SMCHS<br />
alumnae, Allie (Werve) Koleno ’91<br />
and Megan (Morse) Malo ’91.<br />
Class of 1992<br />
Casey (Van Meter) Cook ’92 has<br />
been married to her husband, Abraham<br />
Cook, since 2001. Their son Cole<br />
was born March 11, 2007. Abe is a real<br />
estate attorney at Jackson DeMarco<br />
in Irvine. Casey works part-time<br />
as the event coordinator at St. Michael’s<br />
Abbey, Seminary & Prep <strong>School</strong> in<br />
Silverado Canyon and spends the<br />
rest of her time with their little boy.<br />
Erika (Blinn) Geisler ’92 and her<br />
husband, Bill, have two kids, Olivia<br />
Belle Geisler (5-3-06) and Andrew<br />
David Geisler (3-7-08). In May of<br />
2008, the family moved to Wilmington,<br />
North Carolina. In July of 2007,<br />
Erika retired from her psychology<br />
practice to be a “house cat”<br />
(stay-at-home mom).<br />
Heather (Blackinton) Herd ’92<br />
graduated from UC Irvine in 1996 and<br />
then went to live in London, England.<br />
While in England, she met Stephen<br />
Herd, a native of Scotland, whom<br />
she married in May of 1997. She<br />
graduated from UCLA <strong>School</strong> of Law<br />
in 2001. The couple moved back to<br />
Orange County in 2005 and now<br />
resides in Ladera Ranch with their<br />
boys, Ewan Nathanael (9-04) and Liam<br />
Derek (4-08). Stephen is currently<br />
practicing commercial litigation at<br />
Rutan & Tucker in Costa Mesa.<br />
Dana (Woods) Maas ’92 and Brian<br />
Maas are the proud parents of their<br />
daughter, Brenna Grace Maas, who was<br />
born on October 28, 2007. Dana and<br />
Brian’s two sons, Dean and Davin, are<br />
equally excited about the birth of<br />
their baby sister!<br />
James McGrath ’92 graduated from<br />
UC Berkeley in 1997 and taught<br />
Algebra at SMCHS from 1997 to 1999.<br />
He received a Master’s Degree in<br />
Philosophy from UC Irvine and taught<br />
at Long Beach City College for several<br />
years before attending UCLA. He<br />
graduated from UCLA <strong>School</strong> of<br />
Law in May 2008. He was the class<br />
president, chief managing editor of<br />
the Women’s Law Journal, president of<br />
the UCLA Sports Law Federation,<br />
and he has a Business Law Specialization.<br />
