Chris Eagan ’05 recently traveled to
Cambodia on a service trip through
Loyola Marymount Univeristy’s
Alternative Breaks program. Chris
stayed within the country for two
weeks and worked with the nonprofit
organization, “Journey’s Within Our
Community.” There were a number of
different projects, but he spent his time
working on a micro finance project
for the community. Chris is looking
forward to his senior year at LMU.
Beth Palkovic ’05 studied abroad
in Spain this past summer. After she
completed her studies, Beth and her
friend traveled around Europe for a
couple weeks and visited the United
Nations in Geneva.
Steven Shaffer’s ’05 and Megan
(Bartel) Shaffer ’04 were recently
married on August 9, 2008 at San
Francisco Solano Church. The two
met while attending SMCHS.
Adam Stout ’05 will be a senior at
Marquette this fall with one year left
before he student teaches in the
Milwaukee Public School District.
Adam has been busy working in
research with the school of education,
tracking the reading progress of
African-American children who live
in households below the poverty
line, while also giving tours to
prospective Marquette students as a
University tour guide. He travelled
to Tanzania (east Africa) for three
weeks and worked in schools, HIV/
AIDS clinics, and orphanages, and
he will lead the group back to the
village of Morogoro this upcoming
Christmas break. The group’s mission
is to bring knowledge, supplies, and
hope to those who need it most.
Thomas Hull ’06 earned his Harvard
varsity letter last year as a starter on
the football team and received Ivy
League Honors for his performance
against Cornell. Thomas and his
teammates won the Ivy League
Championship last season in the 124th
playing of the historic Harvard-Yale
rivalry, marking only the second time
in Ivy League history that Harvard and
Yale met undefeated in League play.
He is a junior this fall concentrating
in biology/pre-med after spending
the summer in a preceptorship with
an orthopedic surgery group.
James Keefe ’06 is a starting player
on the UCLA’s Men’s Basketball
Team. James had an experience of a
lifetime last March as UCLA played in
the NCAA Final Four Tournament.
