Show effects: Live music
and music videos on the
multimedia screen
water pool in order to reach the big bamboo hut, such
as a short raft trip, shaking bridges, water fountains,
various effects and other surprises. After this, the
course goes across a 10 metre upwardly inclined
bouncing suspended walkway into the inside the bamboo
huts, where visitors encounter further animations
and experiences. It has to be mentioned that an
alternative route up might well be a good idea, as the
movements of the bridge are somewhat too strong for
many a visitor. On arrival at the top, visitors are awaited
by a path through the bamboo jungle, with a
simulated tropical climate across footbridges, bridges
and nets. Attention, though! At the sound of the warning
signal visitors should hold on to something, as a
powerful tropical storm blows
through the “Big Bamboo”. Having
passed the moving and beautifully
decorated “Bora Bora Queen” shipwreck
in the lower section, the magic
of the South Seas is over – and the
visitors go “ashore” across a
treacherous landing stage.
Temporary show acts with pretty
dancing girls rounded off the
Caribbean feeling in Düsseldorf. The
“Big Bamboo” logo, designed by the
afaw firm, is dominantly mounted at
the front of the construction, along with
the some 10 m 2 LED multimedia
screen, continuously showing music
videos matching the theme. Soon,
there will also be live scenes of visitors
making their way through the course of
the entertainment. Visitors should take
their time looking over the attraction,
with its many large and small, lovingly designed decoration
elements that provide this attraction with a unique
and cheerful appearance. Technical details: The “Big
Bamboo” requires three transport vehicles, two of which
are incorporated into the construction that boasts a front
length of 22 metres, a depth of 13 metres and a height
of 16 metres. The collapsible water basin pool holds
20,000 litres of water. Further venues of “Big Bamboo”
will be in Augsburg, Crailsheim and Bremen. ■
