SPRING VALLEY BEACH
The water slide “360Rush” from
SplashTacular that was introduced
at the IAAPA exhibition in
2009 has been realized for the
first time. And the location of the
world novelty is the small water
park Spring Valley Beach in
Bluntsville in the US State of
Alabama.
Basically the “360Rush” is a Bowl-slide that however
has a lot higher start point, and with that
a considerably higher sliding speed. And above
all – and this is actually a world première – it is
used by two persons at the same time. This is
made possible – the third improvement of a Bowl-
Slide – by the exact simultaneous start by way of
the very popular trapdoor mechanics in the meantime.
So, two dauntless sliders take their place
in the two individual cabins at a 17.5 metre
height. Then the countdown starts and the floor
claps away from under their feet at exactly the
same moment. They shoot at a nearly vertical
angle through the 81 centimetre wide pipes that
smoothly change into the horizontal, releasing the
passengers at nearly 60 km/h into the bowl. The
two slide ends deliver an exciting race into the
13.7 metre diameter container. However as both
inlets are on opposite sides there is at no point the
possibility of coming too close to one another. The
run area is located in the centre of the element
that is exited over small stairs and a small bridge.
