The GLA support policy DM 36
but state that the vibrancy and
attractiveness of town and local
centres should be referred to.
Town Centre Manager and
Board and Met Police disagree
with the ‘Direction of Travel’
boundary proposed and would
like to see this amended to
reflect the adopted Angel Town
Centre Strategy and Issues
and Options consultation and
to include the policy station.

supports the extension to

shopping frontages.
Upper Street Association
consider that shops and
restaurants on the north side
of Upper Street, north of
The police station is not
considered to be located so as
to be an integral part of the
town centre. The town centre
boundary is focused on retail
provision and the vitality and
viability of the town centre.
Some amendments to the
frontages have been made.
Secondary frontages have a
retail focus, whereas their are
lots of restaurants along this
section of Upper Street and it
is not considered that the
secondary frontages
designation would be
appropriate.
