The practice nurse role is a very important front line role for parents with many common childhood<br />

issues. This is being expanded in many areas with practice nurses becoming more involved in well child<br />

services including the ‘B4 School Check’ This interactive presentation will cover:<br />

• a quick update on recent immunisation issues: the 2011 immunisation schedule update, private<br />

market vaccines to know about, cool new research in immunisation,<br />

• common childhood issues including the well child schedule and the role of the practice nurse, lift the<br />

lip dental screening, well child screening tools, common behavioural issues and skin issues.<br />

HPV - Nurses Programme<br />

The purpose of this presentation is to review current data and thinking on the impact of HPV infections.<br />

We will discuss the epidemiology of HPV and summarize the risk factors for HPV infection. We will also<br />

briefly discuss current primary and secondary measures to prevent the sequelae of these infections.<br />
