Start 9:30am Duration: 50mins Monet
Graham Gulbransen presents best practice strategies to minimise your patients’ risk of heading down
the ‘metabolic highway’. Increasingly GPs are starting patients on the new antipsychotics, or are involved
with shared care with, or discharge from secondary mental health services. Extrapyramidal side effects
were a major worry with the first antipsychotics. Increased risk of diabetes is the downside of second
and third generation antipsychotics.
