Children and Young People’s Service Budget There are three main sources of CYPS funding, the respective percentages of which are shown in the chart below: Departmental cash limit: This covers all the work of the CYPS required under primary legislation and associated legislations and is used to support the strategic and operational responsibilities, the social care of vulnerable children, home to school transport, school improvement, education awards, education psychology and youth and community provision. Grants: This includes the ring-fenced Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) to fund pupil related services and other specific grants such as Early Years Sure Start, Standards Fund and Area Based Grant. Client Receipts: This includes income from traded services to schools and other client services.
