Dr. Johnson was a man of honor <strong>and</strong> strict <strong>in</strong>tegrity. Truthfulness <strong>in</strong> all relations <strong>and</strong> conscientiousness were <strong>in</strong> him marked<br />
features. As a physician he was ever ready to respond with cheerfulness to all dem<strong>and</strong>s made upon his professional skill. The sick,<br />
whether <strong>in</strong> homes of plenty or want, received from him patient care <strong>and</strong> faithful service. He befriended the unfortunate <strong>in</strong> the liberal<br />
spirit of the Samaritan. Of modest <strong>and</strong> agreeable demeanor, his presence was ever welcome <strong>in</strong> the sick-room, <strong>and</strong> the success of<br />
his m<strong>in</strong>istrations is attested by a multitude of sorrow<strong>in</strong>g patients.<br />

CHARLES LINCOLN MYERS, A.B., M.D.<br />
Charles L<strong>in</strong>coln Myers was born at Verona, Oneida, NY, 7 Jan 1860. He<br />
prepared for College at Whitestown Sem<strong>in</strong>ary, Whitestown, NY. He<br />
matriculated at Hamilton College <strong>in</strong> Jun 1880, with the Class of '84. He<br />
rema<strong>in</strong>ed with the Class dur<strong>in</strong>g Freshman year only. He was a member<br />
of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He began the study of law <strong>in</strong> the<br />
office of Hon. E. L. Stevens <strong>in</strong> Rome, NY. After two years <strong>in</strong> this office<br />
the condition of his health compelled Mr. Myers to seek outdoor<br />
employment. In the Fall of 1883 he secured a position <strong>in</strong> Chicago, IL, as<br />
General Foreman <strong>in</strong> connection with a bus<strong>in</strong>ess which kept him out-ofdoors<br />
most of the time. He rema<strong>in</strong>ed at Chicago until Sep 1892. He then<br />
matriculated at <strong>Albany</strong> Medical College, <strong>Albany</strong>, NY, from which he was<br />
graduated 16 Apr 1895, with the degree of M.D. He was granted a<br />
license to practice medic<strong>in</strong>e by the Regents of the University of the State of <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>, 1 Jun<br />
1895. After graduation, Dr. Myers located at <strong>Albany</strong>, NY, where he has s<strong>in</strong>ce been cont<strong>in</strong>ually<br />
engaged <strong>in</strong> the practice of his profession. Dr. Myers was for six years Health Physician of<br />
<strong>Albany</strong>, NY; one year Coroner's Physician. He was for three years on the Executive Committee<br />
of the Alumni Association of the <strong>Albany</strong> Medical College, <strong>and</strong> holds the position of Historian of<br />
the Class of 1895. Dr. Myers is prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>in</strong> Masonic circles at <strong>Albany</strong>, NY, both <strong>York</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
Scottish Rite. In 1909 he was an officer of James Ten Eyck Lodge No. 831, F&AM; High Priest of Capitol City Chapter No. 242<br />
RAM; <strong>and</strong> an officer <strong>in</strong> the Temple Comm<strong>and</strong>ery, No. 2 KT. He has been master of DeWitt Cl<strong>in</strong>ton Council No. 22 R&SM, <strong>and</strong> has<br />
represented said Council <strong>in</strong> the Masonic Hall Association.<br />
Dr. Myers was married to Carol<strong>in</strong>e Louise Fl<strong>in</strong>t at Rome, NY, 8 Jan 1887. No children have been born to them. In June, 1909,<br />
Hamilton College conferred the degree of A.B. upon Dr. Myers, nunc pro tunc as of Jun 1884. It was well done. Dr. Myers is a<br />
general practitioner. He has a good, lucrative practice <strong>and</strong> holds a high place <strong>in</strong> the esteem of his fellow townsmen. In response to<br />
our <strong>in</strong>quiry, he says that he weighs 133 pounds; has still a full head of hair; that Father Time has begun a liberal spr<strong>in</strong>kl<strong>in</strong>g of silver<br />
there<strong>in</strong>; that he now enjoys good health <strong>and</strong> hopes that condition will cont<strong>in</strong>ue.<br />

Jacob Lans<strong>in</strong>g Ten Eyck, son of Abraham Cuyler <strong>and</strong> Margaret Matilda (Haswell) Ten Eyck, was born <strong>in</strong> <strong>Albany</strong>, 8 Jul 1864.<br />
He attended the local primary schools <strong>and</strong> graduated from the <strong>Albany</strong> high school, after which, <strong>in</strong> 1881, he entered the employ<br />
of H<strong>and</strong> & Babbitt, wholesale lumber dealers <strong>in</strong> the "District." The follow<strong>in</strong>g year he was with T. P. Crook & Company, provision<br />
merchants, as assistant bookkeeper. He took an early <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> political gather<strong>in</strong>gs, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong> 1883 organized the Young Men's<br />
Democratic Club, with the object of purify<strong>in</strong>g primaries <strong>and</strong> elections. He studied law <strong>in</strong> the office of Norton Chase <strong>and</strong> John A.<br />
Delehanty, <strong>and</strong> at the same time, as agent of the Barber Asphalt Pav<strong>in</strong>g Company, <strong>in</strong>duced the <strong>Albany</strong>, Troy <strong>and</strong> Schenectady<br />
corporations to employ asphalt pavement. He attended the <strong>Albany</strong> Law School of Union University, <strong>and</strong> was admitted to the<br />
bar <strong>in</strong> Nov 1888. The next year he formed a law partnership with William S. Dyer, which cont<strong>in</strong>ued until 1905. He was<br />
assemblyman from the Third <strong>Albany</strong> district <strong>in</strong> 1895, <strong>and</strong> was the only Democrat elected on the entire ticket of the county. He<br />
was made chairman of the Democratic city committee <strong>in</strong> 1900, <strong>and</strong> 1903-06, was a member of the grievance committee of the<br />
<strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> State Bar Association. He is a member of the American Society of International Law; belongs to the Reformed Dutch<br />
Church, of Delmar, <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>; James Ten Eyck Lodge, No. 831, F&AM, <strong>and</strong> is a member of the Fort Orange Club. He<br />
married, 3 Sep 1889, at Berne, NY, Kate, daughter of Zeb. A. <strong>and</strong> Lucy E. (Gallup) Dyer, both of Berne, <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>. She was<br />
born at Berne. Child: Abraham Cuyler, born at "Whitehall," <strong>Albany</strong>, 10 Jul 1890; graduate of the <strong>Albany</strong> Academy, class of<br />
1905; entered the United States Naval Academy, May, 1908. He was the brother of Peter Gansevoort, b. <strong>in</strong> Whitehall Place,<br />
<strong>Albany</strong>, 7 Nov 1873, who was a member of Masters Lodge No. 5.<br />
