action (practice and policy) to address the injury issue in their communities.
ACICR Communications
Background
Goal
Communications are essential to the work ACICR does to support the Regional
Health Authorities and other injury control stakeholders. The monthly
teleconferences, Injury Control Alberta newsletter and Injury in Alberta
conference (held every second year) are regular projects that are described in
detail elsewhere. Other communications deal with information requests, media
inquiries, media monitoring and the development of a variety of information
pieces for dissemination to stakeholders. Documents such as TAKE ACTION to
prevent injury information sheets, Injury Examiner sheets, news releases and
fact sheets are developed and distributed in hardcopy, electronically and posted
on the ACICR website.
To provide accurate, timely and evidence-based information about injuryrelated
issues to Alberta injury prevention and control stakeholders.
Objectives 1. To share injury control information with Alberta injury practitioners to
support their work.
2. To provide injury prevention information to the public.
3. To update Alberta injury practitioners about current and upcoming ACICR
activities.
