Illustrate with examples and non examples: If someone from Brazil came to the United States with the idea he or she would find work and make a new permanent home, this would be an act of immigration. If someone from Argentina came to the United States for two weeks to visit his or her cousins, this would not be immigration, because the person did not plan to live or work in the United States. If a person moved from New York to California, this would not be immigration because the person did not move from one country to another.
