Rotary Club of Lombard Chartered Sept. 21, 1961<br />

1964 - Packed and transported dental equipment to Brazil, which had been donated by a Rotarian.<br />

Awarded over 26 scholarships to high school seniors. 1961-76 - Financial contributions to senior<br />

citizens, paramedics, Good Samaritan Hospital, West Suburban School for Retarded Children, Police<br />

Recognition Committee, Lombard YMCA May Talk, Work Community Service, Dambrai, Hong Kong<br />

District Workshop for the Blind.<br />

1975-77 - Financial contributions to paramedics, Log Cabin Bicentennial project, scholarships,<br />

exchange students, YMCA, Man Material Welfare film, other high school programs, home delivered<br />

meals, West Suburban School for Retarded, Senior Citizens, children’s Christmas party, Nurses Club,<br />

needy family, Senior Men’s luncheon, Miss Yorktown, and miscellaneous awards. Rotary Ann<br />

donations: Lombard Park District summer camp for handicapped children, Senior Citizens, home<br />

delivered meals, and Lilac Parade.<br />

1978-79 - High school scholarships $1,400; YMCA programs $425; West Suburban School for Retarded<br />

Children $270; and children’s Christmas party $407.70. Library Hearing equipment $434, Four-Way<br />

test award $500, Lilac Parade $144.27, Senior Citizens Men’s Lunch $142.50, Chamber blood draw<br />

refreshments $35, and Easter Seals $50. Rotary Ann contributions: Home delivered meals, Lombard<br />

Nurses Club, and Chamber of Commerce Blood Bank.<br />

1979-80 - Contributions: High school scholarships $2,000; Four-Way test award $500; YMCA<br />

programs $500; Senior Citizens $683; Lombard Jr. Wrestling $250; children’s Christmas party $310;<br />

Lilac Parade $200; Exchange Students $584.50; and Youth Exchange $495. Fundraisers included Club’s<br />

annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance, first Country Auction and special luncheon for the Ray Graham<br />

students in Lombard.<br />

1985 - Fundraisers included St. Patrick’s Day dinner, Reverse raffle, and Christmas auction. Donation to<br />

Sister Brigitte Yengo to perform social work in the Congo. Two students received $1,000 scholarships.<br />

Several exchange students rode Club’s float in annual Lombard Lilac Parade. $100 donation to relief<br />

fund in Mexico City. Annual Coho fishing outing was held. Christmas party held at Ray Graham Home.<br />

1986 - Fundraisers included Reverse raffle, Christmas auction, and St. Patrick’s Day dinner. Held annual<br />

fishing outing and summer picnic. Celebrated 25th anniversary of the Club. Continued financial<br />

assistance of $200 per month to Catholic nun in African Congo.<br />

1987 - Held St. Patrick’s Day dinner, Christmas auction, Reverse raffle, fishing outing, summer picnic,<br />

and Valentine’s Day outing. Contributions to Sister Yengo were matched by Rotary Int’l. Made<br />

commitment to PolioPlus program. Helped sponsor Glen-Lo Rotary Club. Donated $1,000 to Diecke<br />

Home.<br />

1988 - Sponsored three high school students to attend World Conference in Wisconsin. Fishing outing,<br />

St. Patrick’s Day dinner, Christmas auction, summer picnic, Valentine’s Day outing, and Reverse raffle<br />

were held. $6,500 reached in pledge to PolioPlus. Brought back informal evenings at the homes of<br />

<strong>Rotarians</strong>. Rotary International approved 100% matching of funds to Sister Yengo of which the total is<br />
