It began in January of 1984 with a one-day event at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Beginning in January of 1985 the ski weekend has been held at the Devil's Head Resort and Conference
Center in Merrimac, Wisconsin.
The Libertyville (Noon) Rotary Club has sponsored these events since its inception in 1984 and jointly
with the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club since 1988. Many Rotarians and family members have also
attended the weekend event. Several Youth Exchange students from District 6450 have also been
involved for the last four to five years.
The Snowseekers Ski Club of Libertyville has helped to fund the cost of the charter bus and provide ski
instruction for the students since 1997.
The Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Rotary Club along with the Snowseekers Ski Club is going to sponsor the
ski weekend for the next two years beginning in January of 2007.
