Terrific Turtle Trip
On May 27, the Year 1 class went to the Turtle Sanctuary Centre in Sattahip to
learn more about our topic “Dinosaurs and Other Animals”.
We had a great time. First, we watched a video about sea turtles and learnt about
the different kinds of sea turtles. Then we went to the museum to see the preserved sea
turtles and their eggs and learnt how to identify a male from a female sea turtle as well as
their life cycle. We have also seen other sea animals in the museum. We had a chance to
see the nursing area where we fed the baby turtles (hatchlings) with fish. We had so much
fun feeding them!
As the Turtle Sanctuary is a charity, we also gave a donation to help the project to
thrive. In return, we’ve all got cute sea turtle key rings and necklaces. The trip ended with
an ice cream! Yum!
