Year 1 – Sally-Rose Ilderton
I am sad to be leaving GIS, it has been amazing. I remember first
arriving (on my birthday). Dr Tasker picked us up from the airport
and took me to my first 'Asian toilet' at the service station. I didn't
think I was going to last very long here! But everyone made us feel
very welcome and helped us settle in. My favourite part of GIS is
the parties (obviously!) The Indian dancing at Diwali and Loy
Kratong celebrations are amazing and I will never forget being
thrown in the swimming pool by Year 1 children during Song Kran
(they can be pretty strong when they gang up together!) - Ananya's
talent show dance is definitely up there as a top moment too!
I have also loved being the Primary Tiger House captain; you have worked so hard,
and made it really fun for me! We couldn't have done so well this year without Grace
and Fabio (and Jessica and Rida!) Good luck in Secondary, you are amazing!!
You've all been awesome and I will miss you very much! Look out for me on TV at the
Rio Carnival, or playing football in this summer’s World Cup festivities (I wish!)
Year 4 – Ellie Holloway
I can’t believe that I've been here for two years! Now it’s time to
say goodbye and time really does fly when you’re having fun! I've
had a great time at Garden and gained many memories that will
stay with me forever. The children and staff have been great and I
will miss them greatly. Working here has also given me the chance
to travel around South East Asia, experiencing new cultures and
gaining new experiences. My next adventure starts in August
when I head over to Qatar. If I hang around long enough I may get
to watch the World Cup….
Year 5 – Brenda Lane
Wow! What an amazing 2 years it has been. I am so fortunate to
have had the opportunity to come live in beautiful Thailand, and
teach at Garden International School. It has been an exciting time,
and I have taught so many wonderful students. GIS is more than
just a school, it is a community filled with wonderful people,
students, parents and colleagues, many of whom I will remember
always. I am leaving the school to return back to my home in
Canada with my son Kalin. We will both miss the great friends
we've made here (and the sunny warm weather!) but are taking home with us fantastic
memories. Best of luck to everyone!
