Teacher of the Month
For the last column of the school year, we talk to ELS and
Science teacher Ms Lenz.
1) What has been the best thing about working at GIS? It
has been an amazing experience getting to know such cool
kids from all over the world.
2) What made you choose to live in Thailand? I had
been living in Germany and thought it was way too cold. I
wasn’t ready to return to the US, so I decided to find a hot
country to live in. I heard Thailand also had great people and
great food - they were right!
3) Favourite singer/band?
I like lots of different kinds of music but my all-time favourite band has to be The Beatles.
4) Favourite movie and why? Waking Life - the animation is great, the music is great,
and it really makes you think about living and dreaming.
5) If you weren't a teacher, what would you be doing? I would definitely be doing
scientific research, probably towards helping the environment and saving the planet.
6) Have you ever met anyone famous? I met someone who is a TV star in the US, but
at the time I didn’t have any idea who he was.
7) If you were a superhero, which superhero would you be?
Wonder Woman - my sister and I used to love that TV show and we would practise
spinning around and changing costume the way she used to do on the show.
8) What kind of student were you? I was a big nerd and very, very shy!
9) What are you afraid of? Getting old, haha. Actually, I don’t mind being old as long as I
can still travel and have fun ;)
10) What's your favourite kind of doughnut? Krispy Kreme originals straight out of the
oven… yummmm!
