Governments (NCTCOG). It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the Design Engineer to provide a detail in<br />

the plans if a standard detail is not available.<br />

3. Approved Materials List – Products that have been pre-approved for use on projects are<br />

available in this listing on the <strong>City</strong> web site. Products not shown on this list must be approved<br />

prior to installation.<br />

4. Technical Specifications – All projects shall be constructed in accordance with the most<br />

recent version <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> specifications which are available through the <strong>City</strong> web site or<br />

TxDOT specifications. It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the Design Engineer to use the most current<br />

specification, as the specifications are subject to change. If a necessary specification is not<br />

available from the <strong>City</strong> or TxDOT, then one may be selected from the most recent version <strong>of</strong><br />

NCTCOG Public Works Construction <strong>Standards</strong>.<br />

5. Plan Checklists – common elements necessary on most plans that should be verified by<br />

designer prior to submittal <strong>of</strong> plans. These elements are routinely reviewed by staff and if<br />

missing can delay issuance <strong>of</strong> construction permits. Various checklists will be made available<br />

on the website as developed over time.<br />

1.10 Submittal Requirements for Construction Plans<br />

A. All improvements shall be designed in accordance with the <strong>City</strong> design criteria, specifications,<br />

and standard details referenced as part <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>Standards</strong>.<br />

B. Up to five (5) copies <strong>of</strong> complete construction plans, technical specifications, construction details,<br />

requested calculations, construction cost projection, geotechnical report, and certified plan<br />

submittal checklist are required to be submitted to the <strong>City</strong> for review and approval. All submitted<br />

items shall be 100% complete at the time <strong>of</strong> the submittal. Any incomplete components <strong>of</strong> a<br />

submittal shall result in the entire submittal being considered incomplete and shall be returned to<br />

the Engineer not reviewed. If the submittal is for a private project, the <strong>City</strong> will notify the<br />

Engineer and Developer <strong>of</strong> the incomplete submittal.<br />

C. The construction plans shall be submitted on 22” x 34” sheets and electronic PDF copy. Each<br />

sheet <strong>of</strong> the construction plans shall contain a title block, including space for the notation <strong>of</strong><br />

revisions. This space is to be completed with each revision to the plan sheet and shall clearly note<br />

the nature <strong>of</strong> the revision and the date that the revision was made.<br />

D. See Plan Checklist in Appendix section for a recommended order <strong>of</strong> plan sheets.<br />

E. Record Drawings shall be submitted on mylar print and electronic CAD files for public<br />

infrastructure projects. The CAD file shall include linework for property boundaries, right-<strong>of</strong>way,<br />

easements, roadway, signals, lighting, drainage, water, and sewer facilities. Refer to Survey<br />

Requirements for additional electronic submittal requirements.<br />

F. Each construction plan sheet shall bear the seal and signature <strong>of</strong> the Licensed Pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

Engineer in the State <strong>of</strong> Texas who prepared the plans. If standard details are included in the<br />

construction plan submittal, the Engineer shall provide the following certification on the title<br />

sheet <strong>of</strong> the plans:<br />

The standard [<strong>City</strong>, TxDOT, etc.] details specifically identified in this<br />

set <strong>of</strong> construction plans [or specifically included in these<br />

bidding/contract documents] have been selected by me or under my<br />
