Geographical segments
The principal geographical area in which the Group operates is Singapore. The Group’s overseas
operations comprise mainly publishing and distributing magazines, holding overseas investments,
providing marketing and editorial services and providing online search, directories and classified
services.

34. NEW OR REVISED ACCOUNTING STANDARDS AND INTERPRETATIONS
Certain new standards and amendments and interpretations to existing standards have been published
and are mandatory for the Group’s accounting periods beginning on or after September 1, 2011 or later
periods for which the Group has not early adopted. The management anticipates that the adoption of these
standards, amendments and interpretations will not have a material impact on the financial statements of
the Group and of the Company.

On October 12, 2011, the Board of Directors of Singapore Press Holdings Limited authorised these financial
statements for issue.
