Re: #30 - 48 Royal Rouge Trail Class Environmental Assessment
Please be advised that the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) recently
commenced a study regarding the final design of alternatives to remediate ongoing erosion on a
section of the Rouge River Valley at the rear of Nos. 30 - 48 Royal Rouge Trail in the City of
Toronto. This project is subject to the Class Environmental Assessment for Remedial Flood and
Erosion Control Projects. A "Notice of Intent" formally initiating the project appeared in the
Scarborough Mirror on Friday, March 13, 2009.
As part of the Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process, a Community Liaison
Committee, or CLC, will be formed to aid in the collection of public input through the planning
and design phases of this project. The first CLC meeting for this project is scheduled for
Thursday May 14, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Tall Pines Community Centre. Should you or your staff
be unable to attend these meetings, please be assured that we will keep you updated regularly
of the project status should you wish to participate in the process.
A package of information accompanies this letter providing a brief update on the history of this
site, and information on the Class EA process.
