DR. LIEBERUM Our employees also need short paths. A lot of unnecessary walking
can be saved by making sure that the workstation has eye contact with neighboring
functional areas (e. g. reception has a view of the waiting room, anesthetists and
assistants observe the recovery room). This ensures immediate action when needed
but saves unnecessary walking.
AND FINALLY, A TIP FOR THE COLLEAGUES!
DR. LIEBERUM When establishing or modernizing a practice contact the local health
authorities as the regulations differ regionally. Discussion beforehand may take
time but it also helps, and it is certainly better than having to
engage in bureaucratic warfare to defend what you have invested and implemented.

A dentist specializing in surgery must implement legal requirements in interior
planning. An important factor here is the hygiene requirements as part of quality
assurance in outpatient surgery. Construction (ventilation systems, conductive
floor coverings, preparation rooms etc.) and organizational measures (donning
protective clothing etc.) must be considered. The classification of surgical procedures
(every competent planner has this list) defines the space that is required in the
vicinity of the operating room. If the planner is given a free rein in space without
outside walls, one can speak of an ideal layout for an implantology practice.
However, this is rarely the case, and planning is always a very specific challenge.
