1.2 Expla<strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g terms<br />

used <strong>in</strong> formwork construction:-<br />

In-situ, pre-cast, stripp<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

strik<strong>in</strong>g, sett<strong>in</strong>g/set, cure, mould.<br />

State the general requirements of<br />

formwork, e.g.<br />

a. produce the shape of concrete<br />

structure required;<br />

b. rigidity <strong>and</strong> structural stability;<br />

c. ease of erection <strong>and</strong> stripp<strong>in</strong>g;<br />

d. if built up, boards should be<br />

sufficiently light to prevent<br />
