Equipment / Model production Accessories 5 4 3 A 2 C B 1 Mixing bowls – 5 different sizes Ingenious mixing paddle geometry The ingenious mixing paddle geometry ensures optimum mixing. Because the mixing paddle is as close as possible to the bowl, it takes up as much material as possible (A). The design of the mixing paddle ensures that the material is pushed to the bottom against the centrifugal force (B). The material is mixed most thoroughly at the bottom (C). This also creates pressure that along with the vacuum removes any air bubbles from the material. A dual valve prevents penetration of dust or mixing material into the vacuum pump. This valve is easily changed and cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner and this is the only maintenance required. Info Always use the same mixing bowl for mixing one type of material. Residue from previous mixes can have a detrimental effect (e.g. duplicating silicone will not cure etc.). We therefore recommend using a different bowl for each type of material (plaster, investment, duplicating silicone, alginate). Twister mixing spatula The new mixing spatula for all Twister mixing bowls is the optimum tool for premixing and removing the mixed material completely from the bowl. The geometrical contour of the spatula has been exactly tailored to the side of the Twister bowl. The edges are rounded to avoid damaging the bowl. The handle has an ergonomic contour that fits the shape of the hand perfectly. The length and stability of the spatula also make it easy to mix large quantities in the deep 1000 ml mixing bowl. Tip for: orthodontists, practice laboratories and dentists 1 Accurate impressions = quality results Fabrication of a restoration begins with the impression. The quality of the impression is the basis for subsequent working stages by the dental technician and dentist. The impression is far too important to leave its accuracy to chance. Alginate is still often mixed manually so that mixing results are not always consistent. The material must be homogeneous and bubble free or subsequent working stages will be based on inaccurate information. 2 1 2 Equipment / Model production Homogeneous alginate material • 1 the mixing paddle with its special asymmetrical geometry simultaneously beats and kneads the material, producing an optimum mix. • 2 material that has been lifted up the side of the bowl is removed by an arm and returned to the mixing zone. This function has been included in the Twister venturi and Twister models since February 2004 (SN CO1007) and in all Twister evolution (pro) models. Mixing unit ensures reproducibility After a brief introduction anyone is able to produce optimum mixing results immediately and consistently. The simple operation of the Twister makes this easier, as our recommended settings are quickly programmed: motor speed approx. 400 rpm and mixing time 25 – 30 seconds (varies depending on the recommended settings of the alginate manufacturer). With the Twister evolution (pro) these settings can even be stored so that mixing results are reproducible simply at the press of a button. In comparison: manual spatulation takes on average 40 – 45 seconds with clearly inferior and rarely reproducible results. Description Art.
