Several thousand students in our area benefit from, and are inspired by, this wonderful outreach program.<br />
The competition also provides the opportunity for students from local schools to attend the competition,<br />
many <strong>of</strong> whom have never before been exposed to a live performance.<br />
Future Events – The HHIPC for pianists ages 18 – 30 will return March 10 – 17, 2014, where 20 pianists will<br />
compete in four rounds <strong>of</strong> competition for $35,000 in cash prizes plus engagements, including a<br />
recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City, a return performance with the <strong>Hilton</strong> <strong>Head</strong><br />
Symphony Orchestra, and other engagements.<br />

History – In its 28 years on the <strong>Island</strong>, the <strong>Hilton</strong> <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Island</strong> Wine & Food Festival has grown from a<br />
small wine tasting event for locals to one <strong>of</strong> the largest wine and food events in the Southeast.<br />
Event – Held annually in March, the 28th annual <strong>Hilton</strong> <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Island</strong> Wine & Food Festival will bring<br />
together wine, spirit and food lovers for a six-day Festival. The Festival provides wine lovers and gourmet<br />
foodies alike the opportunity to sample outstanding domestic and international wines and some <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Lowcountry's best cuisine. The <strong>Hilton</strong> <strong>Head</strong> <strong>Island</strong> Wine & Food Festival's Silent Auctions benefit<br />
educational opportunities for students in the Hospitality programs <strong>of</strong> study at the University <strong>of</strong> South<br />
Carolina Beaufort and the Technical College <strong>of</strong> the Lowcountry though the John T. and Valerie Curry<br />
scholarship fund.<br />
