are specialists.<br />

<strong>Fly</strong>-tippers did, however, seem to have a particular type of criminal history.<br />

Table 5.4 compares the proportion of the fly-<strong>tipping</strong> sample convicted of<br />

different offences at different ages with the general population (using<br />

estimates given by Prime, White, Liriano <strong>and</strong> Patel, 2001). The highlighted<br />

cells indicate where the proportion in the fly-<strong>tipping</strong> group is higher than would<br />

be expected from the population estimate.<br />
