awesome autumn
and harvest Festival
In September Åland celebrates the bounty of the land with
three days of Harvest Festival. The festivities begin with open
house on Friday and Saturday when local farmers, craftsmen,
restaurateurs and other inventive entrepreneurs open their
doors to the public. Signs and storm lanterns make it easy to
find your way. Let the tastes and scents of newly harvested
and newly baked produce transport your senses. Music, entertainment
and activities complete the scene. The celebrations
conclude with a large farmers’ market. Combine the harvest
festival with Friday evening’s Open by Night in Mariehamn.
