Industry Overview
There are 51 deposit banks in the UAE (of which are 23 local) as well as 22 investment
companies. Comprehensive data on the fund industry in the United Arab Emirates are
not published officially. A list of financial institutions registered with CBUAE and DIFC are
provided at the end of this chapter. In the absence of comprehensive fund industry data
from official sources, available data on the industry largely come from factsheets of funds
operated largely by regional/local entities. Fund data for foreign banks/institutions
operating in the UAE are generally not readily available.
