The report of the Committee on Traveling Fund
was read by W. J. Ward. The report was adopted and is
as follows:
REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON TRAVELING FUND
Your Committee having in charge the Traveling Fund
would respectfully report:

Quota received from all congregations 3,601.00
Total $4,304.23
Total expense of 129 Delegates $3,995.41
Total expense of 2 speakers 80.00
$4,075.41

The officers of the Synod were directed to send a
letter of thanks to Mr. Elmer Funk, Cashier of Lake City
Bank, Warsaw, Indiana, for his kind co-operation in taking
care of Synod's Traveling Fund.
The report on Unfinished Business was taken from
the table.
Item 23. To review Children's Handbook and proposed
revision of Historical Part Testimony.
F. E. Allen submitted the report proposing an entirely
new draft to take the place of the original report
published in the Appendix of the Minutes of 1927. The
matter prepared by the original Committee, of which W.
J. McKnight was Chairman, was referred back to that
Committee to.complete its work. The revision of the Historical
Part of the Testimony was referred to a special
committee, to be named by the Committee on Nominations,
with a view to publication together with Elliott's Handbook
and suitable questions.
The cost of printing the report of last year's Committee,
$20.50, was ordered paid out of the Literary Fund.
Item 24. On possibility of aliens obtaining citizenship.
Robert Clarke reported having done nothing himself,
but introduced Dr. Kate McBurney, who related the results
of her personal investigations in Washington. A
committee consisting of F. M. Wilson, Joseph M. Steele,
Walter McCarroll, Major Linson and Dr. Kate McBurney,
was appointed to follow up the information gained by Dr.
McBurney. Dr. McBurney's expenses in visiting Washington
were ordered paid out of the balance in the Traveling
Fund.
