The minutes of the Syrian Commission were read by
W. W. Weir, approved and ordered engrossed on the Minutes
of Synod.
MINUTES OF THE SYRIAN COMMISSION
The Syrian Commission of Synod met at the call of the
Moderator, A. J. McFarland, at the home of Calvin McCarroll
on Mt. Troodos, Cyprus, on August 16, 1927. Members present,
A. J. McFarland, Calvin McCarroll and C. E. Caskey. The
meeting- was constituted with prayer by the Moderator. The
committee to examine Licentiates Dimitriades and Aghbabian
reported progress and was continued and the name of
Dr. Calvin McCarroll was added to the committee. Synod's
letter to the commission was read and ordered put on the
minutes and the clerk was asked to acknowledge it. Congregations
are to have their session books ready for examination
at the next meeting of the Commission. The Commission was
adjourned with prayer by C. E. Caskey, to meet at the call of
the Moderator at such time as seems convenient in 1928.

which was adopted and is as follows:
REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF DISCIPLINE
Your committee would respectfully report:
The papers concerning the affairs in the Central Pittsburgh
congregation were placed in our hands.
We found certain irregularities in connection with the
matter, but were unanimously of the opinion that it would be a
part of wisdom to overlook these technicalities in the present
instance, and allow the petitioners to be heard.
Accordingly we recommend that a commission be appointed"
to meet this evening, if possible, to adjudicate the whole
matter in dispute.
The following is the commission which the committee took
the liberty to name for the approval of Synod:
