Formatori, (Italian Training Personnel Association) has worked in the field of<br />
language training for over 20 years. Since its foundation, it has been continuously<br />
committed to research and improvement of operating processes in language training<br />
and communication. Founded in 1985, it is recognised by the Ministry of Education,<br />
and is an examination centre of the O.C.R. (Universities of Oxford and Cambridge<br />
and of the Royal Society of Arts). It is an examination centre for the Universities of<br />
London and Edinburgh. The International Language School is the official centre and<br />
exclusive representative in Italy of the certification body WBT – Weiterbildungs-<br />
Testsysteme GmBH, member of the ALTE (Association of Language Testers in<br />
Europe), for TELC (The European Language Certificates) European language<br />
certification; with respect to these certificates, for the “Progetto Lingue 2000”, the<br />
ILS signed the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education,<br />
Universities and Research in 2001, and in 2002 signed a framework agreement with<br />
the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Chancellors) for the “Campus One”<br />
project. The language skill levels adopted by our mother-tongue teachers are those<br />
stated in the Common European Framework of the Council of Europe.Since 1985,<br />
the ILS has provided regular language training and updating courses for teachers in<br />
State Schools. Examples include the courses organised under a convention with<br />
IRRSAE Lazio (“The second language in elementary schools with reference to<br />
continuity with infant school and multiracial classes” and “Multicultural didactic<br />
paths: training requirements and integration strategies”). The first course, aimed at<br />
training teachers in English language pronunciation didactics and Italian language<br />
teachers for multiracial classes, involved approximately 800 elementary school<br />
teachers; the other course, originating in the need to create intercultural training<br />
courses for teachers, involved approximately 200 middle school teachers throughout<br />

Italian in Italy<br />
Italian in Italy is an association of 26 language & cultural schools in Italy. The aim is<br />
to promote Italian language and culture to foreign students. Italian in Italy organizes<br />
training sessions and workshops; teachers are highly qualified in second language<br />
acquisition; study programmes focus on each student’s social integration needs.<br />
Italian in Italy has its own Quality Assurance Certification System, in accordance with<br />
Uniter, accredited Sincert Prot. N. 35 03E del 07/01/2003. Our association assures<br />
high standards of excellence in the provision and management of Italian language<br />
courses. Member schools are authorized examination centers for the ‘Certificato di<br />
Italiano’ TELC, member of ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe), and<br />
organize preparation courses for CILS exam (University of Siena), IT examination (III<br />
