“Polo Valboite” is situated in Northern Italy bordering upon Austria. The area is
decentralized and the economy is tourism and handcraft.
Polo Valboite is formed of a group of six state schools that includes: a middle school
with pupils aged 11-14 and five high schools with students aged 14-19. The total
number of students is 560 and the number of teachers is 80 with an additional
number of 26 (auxiliary staff). The five high schools deal with different fields of
knowledge and subjects. Istituto Alberghiero (vocational high school) is specialized in
catering and cooking, Istituto d’Arte is specialized in wood and fabric design and art,
Liceo Classico (humanities), Liceo Scientifico (natural sciences like physics and
mathematics as the main subjects) Istituto Tecnico Commerciale whose peculiar
subjects are economics and law.
The main features of the "Liceo Artistico" - High Art School are:
- It is a high school of performing arts founded in 1846, with a long outstanding in
tradition in Italy;
- it is a school specialised in the teaching of art subjects and applied art of wood and
textile;
– it is a school closely related to the cultural social and economical traditions of the
surrounding area.
