Commissioning 3.3 Overtemperature protection Prepare the thermostat for thermoregulation and take safety measures as described below: Setting the overtemperature protection device. Requirements: A suitable thermal fluid has been selected for the process requirements. The flash point of the thermal fluid is known. Procedure: The over-temperature protection is set to at least 25 °C below the flash point of the thermofluid. Caution: The overtemperature protection is an especially important safety device of your thermostat. It must always be operable and be tested periodically! If the actual value exceeds the set overtemperature limit, an alarm is triggered and the thermostat will cut-out the thermoregulation process. This process can be restarted only after the cause of the alarm has been eliminated and the alarm message acknowledged. Refer to 3.1 Principles and Safety Instructions! Setting the overtemperature protection When: Immediately after filling the system with thermofluid, ref. to 3.4! Recommendation: Periodically test the function of the overtemperature protection by entering a higher setpoint, e.g. as follows: - Set the overtemperature protection to 30°C, - Enter the new setpoint of 33°C, - Start Temperature Control. The thermoregulation process will be stopped automatically with the error message „Temp“. Make sure that the temperature does not continue to increase. The test of the overtemperature protection has been completed. Set the overtemperature protection to the desired temperature. The thermostat is ready for use once it has been switched off and back on again. For Compatible Control CC1-E, CC2-E, CC3-E (immersion thermostat), CCx-E with polycarbonate bath 105A to 118A, heating bath thermostats 208B to 225B, heating thermostat 202C and 205B, cooling heating bath K6 to K25,the overtemperature protection is set mechanically. It is independent of the controller. Use a suitable tool (screw driver or the like) to turn the red button in the center of the overtemperature protection device (section 2.2) to the desired temperature value. 22 Working temperature range of thermostat (max.) Commissioning 3.3 Overtemperature protection For all other units not listed above, the overtemperature protection is set electronically. It is independent of the controller. Use a suitable tool (screw driver or the like) to press the button in the center of the overtemperature protection device. The overtemperature protection menu will be displayed.
