St., Commonplace has been serving
coffee to the Indiana community for
nine years, as of March 12, 2012.
Commonplace is aptly named. On
any given day, coffee-goers are bound
to run into a friend or professor
enjoying a drink or pastry, especially
if they are English majors or minors.
Open Monday through Friday
from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday
and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.,
patrons of Commonplace can enjoy
fresh-roasted coffee in house or on
the go.

Camp Hill, Pa. buys a
Mocha Latte at least
twice a week and
has been a patron
for nearly two years.
Lately she has been
going mostly to read
and write between
her classes.
”I really love the
communal atmosphere
at Commonplace,”
said Uvick, a
junior communications
media major.
“While some people
go there to study,
many more go to
sit down and talk,
which I think really
lends itself to
creating a homey
sort of feeling at the
Commonplace that’s
different from say,
Starbucks.”
In addition to the
“homey” feeling of
“I really enjoy the
Mocha Lattes from
Commonplace. I’ve
tried all of their
lattes, but there’s
just something about
the Mocha.”
Commonplace, many people have
been visiting for the Thursday night
Open Mic during the spring 2012
semester. Open Mic begins at 7 p.m.
in the open area just outside of the
coffee house. Event goers buy their
drinks and food before settling down
in their favorite spot to watch the
open Open Mic performers.
