APPENDIX 2 Timeline for bidding process associated with an ESE Biennial Congress Bylaw 7 of the ESE Constitution & Bylaws provides basic information on ESE Biennial Congresses. It also outlines the process by which the host societies are selected. The chronological order for potential applicants to bid for a congress is designed to allow sufficient time for them plan their bid and, if successful, to organise and deliver a successful congress. Potential applicants for hosting the ESE Biennial Congress shall: 1. send a declaration of intent to the ESE Secretary no later than February of the year in which a biennial congress is going to be held, and four years prior to the congress in question; 2. be invited by the ESE Executive Board to submit a written bid using the proforma (Appendix 3) by 31 st June of the same year; 3. be given the opportunity to present their bid (see Appendix 4) to the General Assembly in the autumn of that year, normally at an ESE Biennial Congress; 4. be informed about the decision of the General Assembly immediately after the voting. 24 Version 2- 10/04/2011
