Primal Responses to Threat
Flirt-Particular to women as a result of sexual violence
against women, especially as children. Instinctive placating
behavior for little girls sexually abused in violent homes.
Incest perpetration is more likely for daughters whose
fathers are violent toward the mother.
Submit- Renders the victim vulnerable, but more in control.
Animals will submit to predator if flight is impossible and
play dead. Submission and under arousal in the face of
danger. May be labeled “risk taking” behavior.
