season and won John Mackey Award as nation’s best at<br />

season record for a TE … Posted his senior numbers<br />

despite missing two games with a toe injury and suffering a<br />

foot fracture during his Alamo Bowl career finale … Rehab<br />

from foot injury limited his <strong>Bengals</strong> spring work, but he’s<br />

52 catches and 557 yards over his first three Missouri<br />

games over four seasons (2005-08) at Missouri … In<br />

addition to his NCAA tight end-record of 247 catches, he<br />

posted second-most career yards by a TE (2659) … His<br />

30 career TDs also were second-most by a TE … Helped<br />

lead Tigers to 37-16 record during his career, including<br />

22-6 over his last two seasons … Played in four bowl<br />

games, Tigers winning three. 2008—In addition to his<br />

Mackey Award, he was named Mizzou’s Most Valuable<br />

Player … His 90 receptions produced 987 yards and<br />

10 TDs … Played his fi rst season as a full-time starter,<br />

after sharing time during his fi rst three campaigns …<br />

As a blocker, credited with 55 knockdowns and five TDproducing<br />

blocks. 2007—Earned second-team All-Big<br />

this kid since he was a baby. His dad (Paul Coffman) and<br />

I used to work out together, and we played together with<br />

the Chiefs. I know his work ethic. He will work hard to<br />

gain all the nuances of the game. He’s smart, driven. He<br />

wants to be successful. Those are the types of guys you<br />

want in your locker room.”<br />

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Raymore-Peculiar HS in<br />

Peculiar, Mo., where he earned first-team all-state honors<br />

for three seasons … Named his conference Player of the<br />

Year as a senior, when he scored 16 TDs (41-for-886<br />

receiving) while helping team to 13-0 record and Class V<br />

state title … As a senior, teamed with his younger brother,<br />

Carson, who was team’s starting QB … Lettered three<br />

times in basketball, and was a first-team all-conference<br />

selection as a junior.<br />

PERSONAL: <strong>Home</strong>town is Peculiar, Mo. … Holds<br />

degree in business from Missouri, and was an All-<br />

Academic Big 12 football selection … Younger brother,<br />

Carson, is a QB at Kansas State.<br />
