passing records, seeks an injury-free ’09 after being<br />

limited by elbow injury to four games last season …<br />

Injury healed without surgery by season’s end, and he<br />

was cleared for all ’09 workout and camp activity … His<br />

2008 statistics included 75 completions in 129 attempts<br />

(58.1 percent) for 673 yards, with three TDs and four INTs<br />

(passer rating of 69.0) … Was the only NFL QB to take<br />

every offensive snap for his team in 2007, and he reset two<br />

of his own club records with 373 completions and 4131<br />

passing yards … Also in ’07, became fifth-fastest passer<br />

in NFL history to reach 100-TD mark.<br />

2008 PARTICIPATION: Started in Games 1-3 …<br />

Suffered elbow injury in Game 3, Sept. 21 at N.Y. Giants,<br />

and though he fi nished the game, he was inactive due to<br />

the injury on Sept. 28 vs. Cleveland … Returned to action<br />

and played all the way on Oct. 5 at Dallas, but elbow<br />

soreness recurred, and he was a game-day inactive for<br />

one INT … Passed 16-for-27 Sept. 14 vs. Tennessee,<br />

for 134-0-2 … Hit stride Sept. 21 at N.Y. Giants, posting<br />

98.9 passer rating on 27-of-39 for 286 yards, with a 17-<br />

yard TD pass to T.J. Houshmandzadeh and no INTs …<br />

Also was three-for-23 rushing at Giants … On Oct. 5 at<br />

Dallas, completed 23-of-39 for 217 yards, with two TDs<br />

and one INT … Both TD passes at Dallas were to T.J.<br />

Houshmandzadeh, covering 18 yards in third quarter and<br />

10 yards in fourth quarter.<br />

FIFTH FASTEST: Palmer threw his 100th career<br />

TD pass on Dec. 15, 2007 at San Francisco, reaching<br />

the century mark in his 59th NFL game. Based on games<br />

played, he is the fi fth-fastest passer in NFL history to<br />

reach 100 TDs. The only four passers to reach 100 faster<br />

would make a good start on an aerial hall of fame. They<br />

are Dan Marino (44 games), Kurt Warner (50), Johnny<br />

Unitas (53) and Peyton Manning (56). Palmer nudged<br />

Brett Favre and Daunte Culpepper (each at 62 games)<br />
