Preparing you for an international career<br />

The inclusion <strong>of</strong> modules such as: Media<br />

Communication Strategies; Dynamics <strong>of</strong><br />

International Business; Global Economic<br />

Governance; Science Technology and International<br />

Policy; Religion, Diplomacy and Security; Economic<br />

Diplomacy and Cultural Awareness, is a unique<br />

feature <strong>of</strong> the course, providing opportunities<br />

for governments and corporate sectors to<br />

obtain training in specific areas through<br />

studying individual modules on a CPD basis.<br />

Educational field trips<br />

The course includes an optional educational field<br />

trip to Europe, which will be organised in<br />

conjunction with Nyenrode Business <strong>University</strong><br />

(www.nyenrode.nl) and provides the opportunity to<br />

visit international and regional organisations, such<br />

as NATO, EU, International Court <strong>of</strong> Justice and<br />

International Criminal Court.<br />

Students at the <strong>London</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong> Diplomacy<br />

Assessment<br />

You will be assessed on coursework, oral<br />

presentation and written examination. You will also<br />

be required to submit a dissertation <strong>of</strong> about<br />

12,000 words on an approved topic.<br />

Academic requirements<br />

A degree from a recognised UK or overseas institution,<br />

a postgraduate diploma, or pr<strong>of</strong>essional qualification<br />

in a relevant discipline, or knowledge and skills at a<br />

university degree standard, normally through five years’<br />

relevant work experience.<br />

Applicants may be exempted from attending certain<br />

modules if they qualify under either the Accreditation <strong>of</strong><br />

Prior Learning (APL) or Accreditation <strong>of</strong> Prior Experiential<br />

Learning (APEL) scheme up to 60 credits.<br />

English language entry requirement<br />

IELTS 6.5 or equivalent<br />

Applicants who meet one <strong>of</strong> the following criteria may<br />

be exempt from the English language requirement:<br />

• studied in English for at least one year<br />

• members <strong>of</strong> diplomatic staff who have undertaken<br />

prior courses in English to enable them to work in an<br />

English speaking environment.<br />

Home/EU/Accredited Diplomats: £9,000 (full-time)<br />

Home/EU/Accredited Diplomats: £4,500 each year<br />

(part-time)<br />
