Preparing you for postgraduate study in the UK<br />

What is the Graduate Diploma?<br />

The Graduate Diploma is a full-time academic<br />

programme that prepares you for direct entry to a<br />

range <strong>of</strong> Masters programmes in diplomacy,<br />

marketing, finance and management at <strong>UEA</strong><br />

<strong>London</strong>. You will also qualify for entry to selected<br />

postgraduate courses within the Norwich Business<br />

School and the School <strong>of</strong> Economics at the<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Anglia</strong> in Norwich.<br />

The Graduate Diploma will give you the<br />

opportunity to:<br />

• improve your language skills in preparation for<br />

postgraduate study<br />

• increase your knowledge <strong>of</strong> academic theory<br />

and improve your understanding <strong>of</strong> key<br />

academic subjects<br />

• develop the necessary research skills for<br />

postgraduate study<br />

• gain an understanding <strong>of</strong> the UK education<br />

system before entering as a postgraduate.<br />

Who should apply for the Graduate<br />

Diploma programme?<br />

The Graduate Diploma caters for a variety <strong>of</strong><br />

international students, <strong>of</strong>fering:<br />

• a conversion course for students with a relevant<br />

background intending to focus on a new<br />

subject in their Masters programme<br />

• additional English and academic skills for<br />

International students with a recognized<br />

undergraduate qualification<br />

• a pathway to postgraduate studies for students<br />

who wish to return to education after gaining a<br />

number <strong>of</strong> years’ work experience, or need to<br />

build up knowledge in a relevant field.<br />

What is special about the Graduate<br />

Diploma programme?<br />

The Graduate Diploma programme provides all<br />

students with:<br />

postgraduate course<br />

How is the Graduate Diploma<br />

programme validated and recognised?<br />

The Graduate Diploma is validated and quality<br />

assured by the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Anglia</strong>.<br />

Successful completion leads to the award <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Anglia</strong> Graduate Diploma, which<br />

is at Level 6 on the National Qualification<br />

Framework (NQF). The course is a first step<br />

towards obtaining a postgraduate qualification.<br />

Excellent choice <strong>of</strong> postgraduate<br />

degree programmes<br />

Following successful completion <strong>of</strong> the Graduate<br />

Diploma (subject to meeting the required scores<br />

for entry to your chosen degree programme), you<br />

will be eligible for direct entry to a wide variety <strong>of</strong><br />

postgraduate degree programmes in subject<br />

areas, such as:<br />

• business<br />

• diplomacy<br />

• economics<br />

• finance<br />

• management<br />

• marketing.<br />

Academic requirements<br />

Pass in an undergraduate degree in any academic<br />

subject (as approved by INTO <strong>UEA</strong> <strong>London</strong>)<br />

or<br />

Diploma (3–5 years) with high academic grades (as<br />

approved by INTO <strong>UEA</strong> <strong>London</strong>)<br />

Note: Applicants for Masters programme <strong>of</strong>fered by<br />

the Norwich Business School with an existing business<br />

degree studied in a UK context will require approval<br />

from Norwich Business School Admissions prior to entry<br />

onto the Graduate Diploma programme.<br />

English language entry requirement<br />

IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum <strong>of</strong> 5.5 in reading and writing)<br />

or equivalent<br />

Students who do not meet the minimum English<br />

language requirements can apply for English for<br />

<strong>University</strong> study. Please see page 48 for course details<br />

Tuition fees<br />

Three term: £12,450<br />

Tuition fees do not include:<br />

• text books and other learning materials: an additional<br />

charge in the region <strong>of</strong> £160 per academic course<br />

Recommended study plan and progression route<br />

If you meet the course’s academic entry requirements but need to improve your English language pr<strong>of</strong>iciency, you can undertake English language preparation before<br />

entering the Graduate Diploma programme. Examples <strong>of</strong> these combinations are set out below.<br />
