Market situation
• Dresden has an extensive and
rejuvenated high street area, centered
around the Prager Strasse, See
Strasse and Altmarkt.
• Altmarkt Galerie, developed and
managed by ECE, has a diverse supply,
and is a key competitor and will be
extended.
• Elbe Park and Kaufpark Dresden are
the main suburban retail competitors.
• Elbe Park is situated near a highway
exit in the northern part of the city. Elbe
Park is a retail park with big box anchor
retailers and no fun shopping elements
of importance.
• Elbe Park (with IKEA) and Kaufpark
Dresden (C&A, MediaMarkt, strong
retailers) are the main suburban retail
competitors in the city, both located
near a highway exit;
• Two convenience shopping centres
situated in housing areas east of city
center.
• Centrum Galerie will be the largest city
center retail scheme in Dresden.
• Because of its scale and its location in
the heart of the traditional retail area of
Dresden close to urban public transport
facilities will make Centrum Galerie the
dominant scheme in the city.
