Market situation
• Hildesheim has an extensive city center
highstreet area, though brands like
Saturn are lacking and some segments
are under represented.
• The prime retail area is located in
between the central train station and
the Schuhstrasse.
• Main anchors in city centre are Galeria
Kaufhof, C&A, Peek & Cloppenburg,
H&M, Esprit, Görtz, Decius, and
Kressmann.
• Besides the planned Arneken Galerie is
also the Bahnhofs Arkaden a pipeline
transit retail project connected to the
station.
• Bahnhofs Arkaden is part of the
regeneration of central train station of
Hildesheim and comprises 13.500 gla
retail over 2 floors and a parking
garage with 300 parking spaces.
• The planning is delayed and because
of political struggling time planning is
currently unknown.
• Hildesheim has three out of town retail
poles: two bigger ones and one small
one.
• North west of the city is a relatively
small retail park with Real and Praktiker
as anchors situated.
• North east of the city is larger retail park
with Media Markt, Schuh Center,
Intersport, Shoe 4 you, Staples,
Schnuller, Mc Donalds etc. as anchors.
• In between road B6 and the railway is a
smaller retail cluster, with several
discount stores such as Kaufland.
