CODE OF ORDINANCES<br />
ARTICLE X. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES DEPARTMENT<br />
Section 2-71. Recreational Facilities Department – Creation and Supervision.<br />

A. Pursuant to the <strong>City</strong> Charter, there is hereby created a Recreational Facilities Department.<br />
B. As directed by the <strong>City</strong> Manager, the head <strong>of</strong> such department shall be the Recreational Facilities<br />
Superintendent.<br />
C. The Recreational Facilities Superintendent shall have the power to hire and discharge the employees <strong>of</strong> his or<br />
her department upon the advice and consent <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Manager, subject to the provisions <strong>of</strong> any merit or civil<br />
service system.<br />
D. The Recreational Facilities Superintendent shall not be construed to be an administrative <strong>of</strong>ficer as defined in<br />
the <strong>City</strong> Charter.<br />
Section 2-72. Same – function; duties, authorities, and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers. [Ord. 195, 5/31/2012]<br />
A. The function <strong>of</strong> the Recreational Facilities Department is to provide for the operation and maintenance <strong>of</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />
owned or controlled parks, recreational facilities, and other facilities as assigned by the <strong>City</strong> Manager, to enable<br />
the public to enjoy recreational amenities and opportunities, while striving to enhance those facilities.<br />
B. The duties, authorities and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> the Recreational Facilities Department commiserate<br />
with the function <strong>of</strong> said department.<br />
C. The <strong>City</strong> Manager may prescribe such duties and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> the Recreational Facilities<br />
Department which are not inconsistent with the <strong>City</strong> Charter, these ordinances, or resolution adopted concerning<br />
such duties and authorities under the authority <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Charter.<br />
