CODE OF ORDINANCES<br />

ARTICLE V. LAUNCHING OF WATERCRAFT AT PUBLIC BOAT LAUNCH<br />

FACILITY.<br />

Section 7-32. Launching Rules and Regulations. [Ord. 168, 3/28/2007]<br />

A. No vessel shall be launched and/or removed that is not legally registered or documented.<br />

B. It shall be unlawful for any person to launch or remove any watercraft at the public boat launch facility by any<br />

means other than by winching or floating. It is expressly prohibited to launch and/or remove watercraft by use<br />

<strong>of</strong> inboard or outboard motors.<br />

C. In addition to penalties provided for in Section 1-6 <strong>of</strong> this Code, anyone who shall violate this subsection B <strong>of</strong><br />

this section shall, upon conviction, be prohibited from use <strong>of</strong> the public boat launch facility for a period <strong>of</strong> one<br />

(1) year.<br />

D. Motorized watercraft and sailboats shall not be launched or removed at any other place within the public boat<br />

launch facility or <strong>City</strong> Park except for the public boat launching facility, except that non-motorized canoes,<br />

kayaks, rafts or other non-motorized watercraft may be put into the Galien River or Lake Michigan at any<br />

accessible site within the <strong>City</strong> Park.<br />

E. Personal watercraft, as defined in Michigan statute, shall be allowed to be moored or parked temporarily for no<br />

more than two hours at personal watercraft designated areas only.<br />
