CODE OF ORDINANCES<br />
ARTICLE V. MOBILE HOMES, TRAILERS AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES.<br />
Section 10-16. Definitions. [Ord. 131, 6/12/2001]<br />
The following words and phrases, when used in this Article, shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them:<br />
Mobile home shall mean "mobile home" as defined in the "mobile home commission act," (MCL 125.1101 et seq.,<br />
MSA 19.855 (1) et seq.).<br />
Recreational vehicles shall include:<br />
1) Boats and boat trailers which shall include boats, floats and rafts, plus the normal equipment to transport the<br />
same on the highway;<br />
2) Folding tent trailer which is a folding structure, mounted on wheels and designed for travel and vacation use;<br />
3) Motorized home which is a portable dwelling designed and constructed as an integral part <strong>of</strong> a self-propelled<br />
vehicle;<br />
4) Pickup camper which is a structure designed primarily to be mounted on a pickup or truck chassis and with<br />
sufficient equipment to render it suitable for use as a temporary dwelling for travel, recreational and vacation<br />
uses;<br />
5) Travel trailer which is a vehicular, portable structure built on a chassis, designed to be used as a temporary<br />
dwelling for travel, recreational and vacation uses, permanently identified "travel trailer" by the manufacturer or<br />
a movable or portable dwelling, eight (8) feet or less in width by thirty-three (33) feet or less in length<br />
constructed to be towed on its own chassis and connected to utilities and designed without a permanent<br />
foundation for year-round living;<br />
6) Utility trailer which is a vehicle used to transport motorcycles, snowmobiles, go-carts or stock cars.<br />
Section 10-17. Public parking. [Ord. 131, 6/12/2001]<br />
No person shall park or permit the parking <strong>of</strong> any mobile home or recreational vehicle upon any public highway,<br />
street, alley, park or other public place within the <strong>City</strong>. Emergency or temporary parking or stopping is permitted on<br />
any street, alley or highway for not longer than one hour subject to any other and further prohibitions, regulations or<br />
limitations imposed by the traffic and parking regulations for that street, alley or highway.<br />
Section 10-18. Parking outside <strong>of</strong> licensed park. [Ord. 131, 6/12/2001]<br />
No person shall park or permit the parking <strong>of</strong> any unoccupied mobile home or recreational vehicle outside <strong>of</strong> a duly<br />
licensed mobile home park, except the parking <strong>of</strong> unoccupied mobile homes or recreational vehicles in any<br />
accessory private garage building, or in any rear yard, is permitted providing no living quarters shall be maintained<br />
or any business practiced in such trailers; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be construed to<br />
hinder or prevent any person from engaging in the business <strong>of</strong> handling mobile homes or recreational vehicles for<br />
sale or resale or for storage, subject to such regulations as may be prescribed by this Code relative to zoning or<br />
regulation <strong>of</strong> such business.<br />
