Anna Kolliakou BA MSc<br />
Maruzza Foundation Research Assistant<br />
Anna has a BA in Psychology from the University of Essex<br />
and was awarded an MSc in Clinical and Public Health<br />
Aspects of Addiction from the <strong>Institute</strong> of Psychiatry,<br />
King’s <strong>College</strong> <strong>London</strong>. Following her studies she worked<br />
at the <strong>Institute</strong> of Psychiatry for The Cochrane Collaboration<br />
Depression, Anxiety and Neurosis Group on an<br />
online European mental health library and went on to<br />
become a Research Assistant at the MRC Social Genetic<br />
and Developmental Psychiatry Centre, on a genetic study<br />
investigating issues in unipolar and bipolar depression.<br />
During this time she also held a post at Imperial <strong>College</strong><br />
as a fieldwork interviewer on a co-morbidity study on<br />
mental health and substance use. Most of her work has<br />
been completed at the National Addiction Centre<br />
focusing on motivational interviewing in reducing drug<br />
use and drug related harm in young adults. She rejoined<br />
King’s <strong>College</strong>, after a year-long break, as a Research<br />
Associate for the Department of Palliative Care, Policy<br />
and Rehabilitation on producing a WHO booklet in Better<br />
Practice in Palliative Care for Older People. The project is<br />
funded by the Maruzza Lefebvre D'Ovidio Foundation.<br />
Janet Law OT MSc<br />
Honorary Research Associate<br />
Janet trained in occupational therapy in South Africa. In<br />
addition to her work in South Africa, she has worked in<br />
America, and more recently in <strong>London</strong>. Through the<br />
years, she developed a clinical interest in neurological<br />
rehabilitation, which led to the completion of her MSc in<br />
Neuro-rehabilitation at Brunel University. Her MSc<br />
dissertation focused on Further Evaluation of the United<br />
Kingdom Functional Assessment Measure and<br />
Functional Independence Measure (UK FIM+FAM)<br />
extended activities of daily living items. Janet now<br />
combines her work as a senior occupational therapist on<br />
the Regional Rehabilitation Unit at Northwick Park<br />
Hospital, with a part-time role in research within the<br />
Department of Palliative Care, Policy and Rehabilitation<br />
at King’s <strong>College</strong> Hospital. Her interests lie within<br />
evaluation and development of outcome measures for<br />
neurological rehabilitation, of which her current projects<br />
include the Northwick Park Therapy Dependency<br />
Assessment Scale and Rehabilitation Complexity Scale<br />
with the rehabilitation research team.<br />
