DAMNOK TOEK (GOUTTE d’EAU) Questionnaire Location: Poipet & Neak Loeung Profile: Damnok Toek (Drop of Water in English and Goutte d’Eau in French) are two local organizations working with vulnerable Cambodian children and their families. The projects implemented aim at supporting vulnerable children and reintegrating them into an independent and productive life in their community. Goutte d’Eau first started to work in Cambodia in 1997. The non-governmental organization (NGO) was established in response to the needs of street children in the commune of Neak Loeung. Then it became a first local NGO in 2001 and a second one in 2003 based in Poipet on the Thai border. Damnok Toek takes care of more than 1,500 children per day with the support of up to 100 employees and three technical advisors. Objectives (of Goutte d’Eau): • Prevention of child-abuse, substance abuse and child trafficking (internal and cross-border trafficking); • Rehabilitation of under age substance abusers and traumatised children; • Integration of neglected children and street-children into Khmer society through non-formal education, vocational training and formal education; • Reintegration of trafficked and runaway children.
