Mae’r Diploma Atodol yn dilyn yn y flwyddyn<br />
ganlynol ac mae’n cyfateb i un lefel A. Mae’r<br />
cwrs wedi’i ddosbarthu fel a ganlyn;<br />
TYSTYSGRIF BTEC LEFEL 3<br />
Cwblheir 1 uned orfodol a 2 uned ddewisol er<br />
mwyn cael 30 credyd lefel 3. Yr unedau yw:-<br />

• Priodweddau a chymwysiadau defnyddiau<br />
peirianneg<br />
• Trydan ac egwyddorion trydanol<br />
DIPLOMA ATODOL<br />
Cwblheir 3 uned ddewisol er mwyn cael 30<br />
credyd lefel 3 ychwanegol. Yr unedau y byddwn<br />
yn eu dewis yw;<br />
• Mathemateg ar gyfer technegwyr<br />
• Darlunio peirianneg ar gyfer technegwyr<br />
• Theori hedfan<br />
Mae’r cwrs yma yn un galwedigaethol sy’n<br />
ffocysu ar y defnydd a wneir o wyddoniaeth<br />
mewn sefydliadau gwyddonol neu mewn<br />
sefydliadau sy’n defnyddio gwyddoniaeth. Gall y<br />
cwrs BTEC arwain at yrfaoedd llewyrchus mewn<br />
sawl maes gan gynnwys peirianneg sifil,<br />
peirianneg drydanol, peirianneg mecanegol a<br />
nifer o brentisiaethau modern sy’n ddibynnol ar<br />
unigolion gyda sgiliau gwyddonol, mathemategol<br />
a chyfrifiadurol. Yn ogystal, gall arwain at<br />
astudio gwyddoniaeth ymhellach mewn<br />
prifysgol.<br />
Bydd y cwrs yn rhoi gradd Basio, Clod neu<br />
Anrhydedd. O fewn y maes Gwyddoniaeth<br />
Gymhwysol bydd y gwaith yn cael ei asesu’n<br />
fewnol ac yna’n cael ei gymedroli. Nid oes<br />
arholiadau sy’n cael eu marcio’n allanol. Mae’r<br />
gwaith i gyd ar ffurf portffolio.<br />
Derbynnir disgyblion sydd wedi llwyddo i gael C<br />
neu’n uwch yn y gwyddorau ar wahân, C neu’n<br />
uwch mewn TGAU Gwyddoniaeth Gymhwysol<br />
neu Glod yn y cwrs BTEC lefel 2. Yn ogystal,<br />
gofynnir bod disgyblion wedi derbyn gradd B neu<br />
yn uwch mewn mathemateg ar lefel TGAU.<br />
The Edexcel specification is followed on this<br />
course. The Certificate takes one year to<br />
complete and is equivalent to one AS level. The<br />
Subsidiary Diploma follows in the second year and<br />
is equivalent to a full A level. The contents of the<br />
course are as follows:-<br />
BTEC LEFEL 3 CERTIFICATE<br />
1 mandatory unit is completed in addition to 2<br />
optional units to gain 30 credits at level 3. These<br />
units are;<br />
• Health and safety in the workplace<br />
• Properties and applications of engineering<br />
materials<br />
• Electrical and electronic properties<br />
SUBSIDIARY DIPLOMA<br />
3 optional units are completed to gain 30 credits<br />
at level 3. The units that we have chosen are;<br />
• Mathematics for technicians<br />
• Engineering drawing for technicians<br />
• Theory of flight<br />
This course is vocational in context and focuses on<br />
the use of science in scientific organisations and in<br />
organisations using science. The BTEC course can<br />
lead to a successful career in several fields<br />
including; civil engineering; electrical engineering;<br />
mechanical engineering; and a number of modern<br />
apprenticeships that rely on individuals with good<br />
mathematical, scientific and information<br />
technology skills. In addition, the course can lead<br />
to studying science to a higher level at university.<br />
The course provides a Pass, Merit and Distinction<br />
grade which is assessed internally and is then<br />
verified. There are no exams to be marked<br />
externally. All of the work is portfolio based.<br />
Pupils accepted on the course will have succeeded<br />
in gaining a C or above in the separate sciences, a<br />
C or above in the GCSE Applied Science course or<br />
a Merit in the BTEC level 2 course. Furthermore,<br />
due to the mathematical nature of the course, it is<br />
expected that pupils will have received a B grade,<br />
or higher, at GCSE level.<br />
