Unfold your own myth. 4 May 2013, EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING 23 ON-GROUND PROMOTION OF THE YEAR FOR SALES VOLUME Gold | ENTRY TITLE: Castrol Star CRB Plus - Aashirwad | ENTRANT: Jagran Solutions (Blessings). This program was aimed at creating contact with tractor mechanics and educating them on product benefits. Mechanics were asked to collect caps of SKUs of new CRB Plus oil. The campaign took place in three phases – Education & Enrolment, Progress & Tracking, and Gratification. Demo kits were designed to interact with less educated mechanics and rewards were decided as per pre defined target slabs. In order to fight competition, Castrol had launched a new variant of CRB plus, and with this new offering in the market, Castrol wanted to engage key customers, drive sales, and create long term brand loyalty. Following a qualitative study, the agency came up with an Advocacy and Loyalty Program called “Ashirwaad” The program was executed in 3stages. First, a reccee was conducted across more than 9553 mechanic shops in 161 towns and data of various tractor mechanics were collected. These mechanics were then contacted & educated about the benefits of Durashield Boosters. Lastly, follow-up visits were initiated after a span of 20 days with re-emphasis on Durashield Boosters and its benefits. A program booklet, welcome kit and t-shirts further amplified the visibility of the brand. The program was scaled to 12 states in the country and resulted in an average consumption of 2 buckets per mechanic. The campaign led to the sale of more than 11500 packs of Castrol CRB Plus in 2 Months, boosting sales by 33.4%. Silver | ENTRY TITLE: Thank You Mom In-Store Activation | ENTRANT: Encompass Events Pvt Ltd product, a part of the proceedings would go toward building playgrounds in India. ‘P&G Thank You Mom’ is a global campaign launched to salute moms across the globe. The 2-phase 360 degree campaign sought to interact with consumers through in-store activations in order to get consumers to honour the spirit of their mothers and to raise awareness, and also to make consumers aware that with every purchase of a P&G In Phase 1 of the campaign, a 360 degree campaign called ‘Fulfill her wish’ was executed. Consumers were asked to thank their mothers and to make a promise to fulfill a wish of hers. A stall was set up and consumers were also asked to pen their thoughts on a postcard which was specially delivered by P&G. They were also given pledge bands to wear which they could remove only once they have fulfilled their mother’s wish. Consumers also clicked and uploaded pictures of themselves holding a pledge board. In Phase 2 the need for playgrounds for children’s all round development was emphasised through a consumer engagement programme called ‘Moms for Playgrounds’. This phase continued with the ‘purchase to become a proud donor’ messaging and consumers were informed about the need for playgrounds and of proceeds from their purchases going towards this cause. The in-store activation reached out to thousands of people across the two phases and impacted sales across brands at P&G. Silver | ENTRY TITLE: Maybelline Karwa (Quest for Health) | ENTRANT: Vibgyor Brand Services Pvt. Ltd. Karvachauth. The challenge was to ensure a greater share of the pie for Maybelline and to drive unprecedented sales. Maybelline wanted to reach out to Indian women in a big way during the Karvachauth festival. As a brand, Maybelline’s marketing communication had never really focused on the married woman, and with the aim of connecting to this segment and encouraging more Indian women to purchase Maybelline products, an activity was to be planned during The activity was carried out for three days across north India at 165 locations in all major markets of the area where women usually go to apply mehendi before Karvachauth. To draw their attention towards the setup and to the opportunity to get mehendi applied for free, promoters approached women and talked about the Maybelline range of products and schemes. Several other activities were also planned to draw women. Beauty artists at the stalls gave free makeovers and offered various other incentives. Women could also get coupons that allowed them to get mehendi applied on the day before Karvachauth. Each set up had a makeover zone, 2 beauty specialists, two trained female promoters well trained in the Maybelline product range and 2 mehendi artists. This promotion saw a 33% increase in reach with more than 2.5 lakh women participating. Sales figures exceeded the expectations of Maybelline with the target of 73 crores exceeded by almost 10 crores.
