UKRIGS has moved
to:
The National Stone Centre
As the Royal Society for Nature
Conservation (RSNC) has pulled
out of geoconservation work
they no longer pay the bills for
UKRIGS, including the office
support costs. This came from
Landfill Tax through the Hanson
Environmental Fund. They have
also pulled out of Rockwatch,
leaving The Geologists’
Association with a similar
funding problem. With John
Reynolds declaring an interest,
and Ian Thomas happy to oblige,
UKRIGS has moved office to:
conserving and using our local
geological/geomorphological
sites. ESTA members have the
educational expertise which is
needed by RIGS Groups to help
to select sites of educational
ESTA Annual Conference 2002 at BGS Keyworth
The next ESTA Annual Conference will be held on Sept 13-15 at the Headquarters of the British
Geological Survey at Keyworth, near Nottingham. Full details will be sent to ESTA members as they
become available. We anticipate a stimulating conference for teachers of Earth sciences across the
age ranges, from cradle to grave. For those who do not know Keyworth, this is an opportunity not
to be missed! Watch this space .... and be prepared to book early. RDT
